A new collection and a new team, why?   When I intervene in companies as a coach, one of the things I ask to the teams is to get out of their comfort zone, their routine. If you want to evolve, you need to put yourself in danger.   For that, and also for new artistic exchanges, I called on Eric Ouaknine, photograph. He is the one who presented me his make-up team, designer.   Do you feel always confident before each new shooting ?   As for a show, I get nervous before but when the team is gathered, that the brief is given, that you fell this unity and this desire to create together, you feel finally confident.   However, if a detail perturbs the good execution of the shootings, like hair which doesn’t respond to a movement, a technical problem on the set...this can distract and make you doubt.

How do you organize yourself during the creation of a new collection? First rule: being  in good shape with a good night’s sleep ! I especially prepare my « scenario » to have hairstyles which segue into one another in a logical way since I have a model for the day and I need her hair for three, four looks or even more ! The trick is to imagine changes which go crescendo from the most commercial/natural to the most sophisticated. This is all the more important that I make the effort of working without wigs nor extensions.  Furthermore, I hate losing my time so I choose also techniques of material preparation according to the styles. 3 What kind of ambiance in backstage? When I concentrate, I can’t really add to the atmosphere so during my shooting days, I need calm. It is what I remember of this day: everybody worked in a very Zen ambiance. The advantage of having had a good relation with Eric before, is that the team was right away. Well, I couldn’t help showing a couple of krav maga tricks to Adam the cameraman… The tendencies transmitted before by the style agency still are an inspiration for you ? To be honest, you can’t be inspired the same way every six months. Of deciphering of the tendencies! But sometimes, a season gives me bad time more than another. 2 Nowadays, your communication/advise/ sales classes with the PNL is a real success in salons partners, do you have novelties for this autumn-winter 2014 ? It is true that for several years, I have organized communication seminaries in order to make the hairdressers aware that the most important in business is to know how to connect oneself with others to understand them and too guide them regarding the services and the advice of products. I’ve always said that I would preach the word from the very first steps of the trainees at school. And this is done since the 03 of September; I am a consultant at the hairdressing academy of Geneva. The PNL made its return in a hairdressing school. I’m glad and it is a real challenge for le to transmit that to such a young audience! I will continue my other technical trainings and my actions as a journalist for the web magazine livecoiffure.com, do you know it?
