  • Let’s discover Sandrine Ruiz artiste, hairdresser for Eugène Perma

  • She is from Toulouse, at the head of a hairdressing salon in this beautiful pink city, studio hairdresser and is part since September 2013 of the artistic team of the brand Eugène Perma. But who is this ex-brunette with a graphic bob transformed in platinum blonde and Rock’n Glamour hairstyle ? Interview.
    Christine Margossian

Portrait-Sandrine-RuizSandrine, you have several hats: head of a company, stage woman, trainer, could you present your commercial space ?
I’ve been working in the family salon since 1986 actively supported by my brother Cédric Pichou. Our specialty is indeed this reception, this family ambience. Our clients first come here to have a relaxing moment before the beauty moment ! Maybe from my Vietnam origins, I have the sense of hospitality and reception.
What is the fame of you salon ?
Historically, specialist of chignons. The Hair Studio salon is indeed leader for years regarding the wedding and night events. From that, the fame of the hairdresser mastering the sophistication. For all that, I ca, say that our customer file varies a lot and that our offers seduce persons from five to ninety years.
You also have an artistic life, what about it ?
I’ve been doing competitions since the age of thirteen; indeed my passion of the stage and the spectacular hairdressing shows comes from that period. It is now a passion, a need of exchanging with the public. I need to feel this emotional vibration that work gives me before the public.
You often have hairstyles with great volumes, why ?
I’m going to tell you something, I am a gourmand and I especially like pastry. This source of inspiration is indeed translated by volumes, colors and textures…gourmand ! It’s also what the stage offers: expressing oneself in a universe which is diametrically opposed to commercial work. Another secret, when I was young I wanted to become a seller of « shiny dresses » … that is fashion design.
You are part of the artistic team of Eugène Perma since 1 September 2013, what is your mission ?
I participate to the creation of collections for the brand, I represent Eugène Perma for artistic actions. Indeed, I will attend the Mondial Coiffure Beauté. What I like with that recent partnership, it is that perspective of free expression. The artistic freedom is important for me. I like also the human dimension of this company. The direction is accessible !
Sandrine, we knew you with a black bob like Chantal Thomas and now we discover you with a platinum blonde color, short hair, volume and free face, what is the message if there is one ?
The media coverage of the shows enables the flow of videos and photos of myself ! And it’s not so easy to see one’s image. Furthermore, I don’t always like what I see ! This black bob which imprisons me, a sober style, wise, in short, an image which doesn’t show my exuberance ! I then decided to be the reflection of what I really am, a person who likes the life and laughing. I than decided to show that with a short haircut which leaves my face free with volume and a platinum color… more like my gray hair. I’m still surprised before a mirror, I don’t recognize myself, neither my clients ! But that’s it, after 28 years of imprisonment, my rebellious side in me is gonna show its rock and glamour side.
