In the beauty world, men has felt pushed aside for a long time...But that was before the Faby Line brand took an interest in them, proposing a complete nail polish collection !   For Piermario Viale, Faby Line brand manager, men take more and more care of themselves, and they should not be forgotten when cosmetics are created. He considers that it exists a steady demand from men, with regard to nail polish in particular. So, he decided to create a collection entirely dedicated to a male public.   “Every men can wear nail polish, if they want to be fashionable” said Piermario Viale when ask what type of men can wear nail polish. Apparently, they are numerous, as according to Faby Line manager the « Nails, colours and men Collection » had a big success in the 2013 Cosmoprof salon. He explained :”We received several requests from a lot of countries that were present”, and then he added “and if for now our collection is only available in Italy, we hope that we will soon find a French distributor”.

    A sober and elegant collection

The collection has six colours : blue in two shade, green, golden, purple and burgundy. And Piermario Viale stated that :”I prefer blue, because it fits to every men”. The colour names were created “with fantasy and in the hope that they'll be fashionable”. Thus, we can find “Panique à Wall Street” or even “Globetrotter” among the coloured bottles.   If Faby Line hopes to distribute his collection around the world, Piermario Viale thinks that it is in England where it will attain most success, because “costumers are more electrical and relaxed”. It is true that for now, opinions are conflicting regarding this new fashion, as we saw it when we interviewed Cosmoprof's visitors, a term often used was “ effeminate “. The nail polish for men is still reserved to rockers … or to avant-gardists !

    Fashion of the stars

However, for years now we have seen the hands of various celebrities varnished with some surprising colours. The singer Seal had his nails varnished in canary-yellow, while the actor Johnny Depp wore royal blue for one of his film première. And as it is often stars who set fashion, we can maybe expect to see men's hands to be coloured in a few years...   So, men's nail polish, fashionable or wild idea?
