Since the beginning of human history, the hair has represented divers symbolic meanings. They lie, as we are aware of it or not, in the emotions linked to the key events of our life.
In the famous hairstyle category we have Samson, who had his strength lying in his hair. We could easily compare this legend to our capillary fibre when we are ill. The hair loses its tone and become “worn out” or fall a lot after an emotional shock. Some people can even notice a significant hair loss -boldness- in times of stress. It is right to say that it symbolizes strength, health, seduction, sexuality, virility and fertility. And finally it represents our personalty at some point of our personal and professional life.

    The symbol of sexual attraction.

Often associated to female hair, it has influenced the customs of numerous countries and still does today. For example, in Ancient Greece , young girls who were still virgins, had long hair but once they got married, they cut it and gave it as a gift to the fertility Goddess! In Catholicism, church men had to shave the top of their head as a proof that they had renounced  to  sexuality. As for the churchgoer women, they could cover their hair to avoid to attract angels. It is the same for the Muslim women who avoid to arouse men's desire. As far as the orthodox Jew women are concerned, they shaved their head and then wear wigs.   Other examples show the symbolic of the hair. In India, during some funeral rites, children shave their head after the death of a family member. After the World War Two ,women who has been sleeping with Nazis were shaved at public place. Nowadays, women are used to change their hair as their love life changes, the new hairstyle is usually shorter, as if they wanted to break up with the past. And finally, in the James Cameron's movie Avatar , the local tribe of Na'vi have long hair and they used it to transfer energy and communicate with animals...   All those proofs show us the role of our hair, that they are the symbols of believes, power,...Soon, we will show you how to use your hair as non-communicative asset  in your professional life.   Christine Margossian for LiveCoiffure   #yt:Jta6B_S1b0c
