Christine Margossian, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and hairdresser ambassador L’Oréal Professionnel, travels the world to transmit her know-how as a coach in order to help hairdressing salons to optimize their results. As an hairdresser expert, she accepted to answer the question of a LiveCoiffure's follower.

Corinne, 41 ans - pregnant of her 2nd child : " I would like to have the same hair as when I’m pregnant. It is not greasy, voluminous and shiny which is very unusual... An d I don’t want to be pregnant all my life because it’s not really practical, so what can I do ??? "

"Hi Corinne, First, thanks to have asked your question to Livecoiffure. What you can observe during your pregnancy is due to the fact that you have more hair during that period. This is a consequence of the production of hormones called estrogens. They act on the hair cycle which normally has three phases. During the first phase, the hair grows; this lasts from three to six years and touches 85 % of the hair. During the second phase, the hair stops growing during two weeks and this touches 1 % of the hair. During the third one and end of the cycle, the hair falls.
It is true that during the pregnancy, the last phase stops, the hair doesn’t fall anymore. The hair is then thicker, stronger, and more voluminous. After the birth, the cycle comes back to normal and all the hairs which stayed during that last phase…fall. So my piece of advice is the following one : tale food supplements before the autumn and the spring to make the hair denser. I’m thinking especially in Densi-Recharge capsules which fortify the fine, damaged hair without volume. The dose is one capsule during the main meal during at least two months. The essential components are taurine, vegetal extracts and greasy acids.
For your greasy hair, the best is of course using shampoos against sebum excess, doing two emulsions with an auto-massage which is not a caress and also spacing the shampoos of three days if possible. I hope I answered your questions dear Corinne. Don’t hesitate to complete these pieces of advice with a hairdresser expert in haircare; he will be able to observe your scalp and your hair in direct !"
