  • In his Parisian hairdressing salon , Coloré par Rodolphe, the hair painter gives us the tone on his news stories, the development of his new products By By Racines.

    What can we wish you Rodolphe for this year 2015 ?
    You can wish me a beautiful life like I have now, that everything must be the continuation of these three last years which make me happy. In short, you understood it, I'm happy and blooming and each day I make the most of each moment. I wish it keeps going like that in 2015 and even after !

    We talked a lot about you during this end of the year 2014, particularly for the launching of your revolutionary spray By By Racines, what is it ?
    You already know that, the roots are the enemies of the colorists, of women but it is difficult to fight against nature. I dreamed that one day I will find an alternative to that problem between two applications of hair color at the salon.
    And it was when I talked with a client about that idea that this dream came true. It turned out that this person worked in cosmetics industry that she created herself the first spray foundation hence our idea to unite makeup and the hair.

    But how ?
    We presented my project to the director, one of the global leaders of outsourcing in cosmetics. The latter after 5 years of research developed a spray capable of coloring the visible roots after the hair growth. The result is an ephemeral colorant which hides and makes disappear in a few seconds the ugly roots. It guarantees a impeccable cover of the roots even of grey hair from 30%. The principle is as simple as a classic spray.
    You must wait until the product is dry. You can then run your hands through the hair, you can't find any residues. It lasts until the next shampoo. In fact, it is made of the same fine resin used for the foundations.

    What's the success of By By Racines ?
    We receive a lot of demands in France and abroad. Proof of a real need in that sector ! I will enlarge the offer of colors with a proposition for the warm reflections and also for the gentlemen with a salt and pepper effect.
    The flasks are studied for a packaging of 75ml, which enables around 35 applications for 35€. Today, at the salon and via our online shop, we use up around 200 products/ day.

    And to finish, what do you think of the marketing of the hair color ?
    The promotion of the hair color market for about ten years contributes to highlight the profession of colorist which wasn't the case before; I remember my visits at the banks for the salon "Coloré par Rodolphe"… their advice was more about thinking about a small local salon you know ! Today, the marketing created around the collections, enables us to exist and to give a new hair color experience to women, to young women and to men also.
    I'm then quite happy of that evolution which gives the opportunity to the colorist that I am to be an artistic director of Wella, status completely unthinkable twenty years ago !
