    Dream styling

It is of course the outfits you notice first when you scrutinise a star’s look. And once again Cannes offered some wonderful surprises, enabling us to admire celebrities from the world of film, fashion and music, dressed up in their finery. Those who stood out included Sharon Stone, her figure beautifully shown off by her friend Roberto Cavalli, and Bérénice Bejo; the Franco-
Argentinian actress chose a white tulle dress from Alexis Mabille, combined with a magnificent blue jacket. Her rock look was a big hit on the Croisette! The Spanish actress and face of L'Oréal Paris, Paz Vega, delighted us with her boyish look, wearing trousers and a belted tuxedo by Alexandre Vauthier. Milla Jovovich opted for a long, flowered dress that had a hint of Japan about it.

    Cascades of precious stones

As far as jewellery is concerned, the stars of this Festival were first and foremost Avakian, Bulgari and De Grisogono. The latter adorned Sharon Stone in a beautifully eye-catching display. The wonderful Dita Von Teese and Rosario Dawson wore respectively; fine jewellery earrings set with rubies, diamonds and pearls and a unique bangle set with 40 white and 20 yellow diamonds.
The presenter Hofit Golan was also entrusted with the jeweller’s creations. Bulgari chose the very glamorous Jessica Biel as its muse; she carried a sparkling clutch bag and wore a diamond necklace in the shape of a snake.

    Red carpet beauty

Glamour was the by-word for make-up this year. The major trend was towards minimalism and in this regard the actress Uma Thurman stood out. Glossy lips, a feminine look, a bright complexion with slightly rosy cheeks: chic in all its splendour! Mélanie Doutey also opted for the light touch with her make-up, with just a crimson red lipstick to add
that Hollywood touch. However, other Festival personalities opted for a more dramatic look. The top model Cara Delevingne played the sexy card with a smoky-eye look and glamour lipstick. Just as effective was the make-up of Léa Seydoux and her glossy raspberry lipstick. Lastly, the neon make-up of the face of L’Oréal Paris, Barbara Palvin,
didn’t go unnoticed! Orange eye-shadow and matching nail varnish gave her an ultra pop look: the 18-year-old model has already learned how to play with the rules of beauty! And how lovely, since the weather was so miserable, to see a ray of colour on the red carpet...

    Captivating coiffures

Dessange, an official sponsor of the Festival, won huge admiration for his styling. Always in complete harmony with their outfits, stars vied to be the most elegant on the Croisette. The beautiful Milla Jovovich was styled by the Dessange team, as were Aimee Mullins and Delphine Chanéac, who thrilled us with her very 1930s short, wavy hairstyle. The Provost team was also very much present throughout the Festival.
They came to delight us with their styles, the studio stylists lent very much towards the natural look this year. We were able to admire the styling of numerous celebrities such as Katie Chang, Sara Forestier, Virginie Ledoyen and top model Reem Kherici and her partner Stéphane Rousseau. We take our hats off to these virtuosos of hair styling, who know just how to reveal the full beauty of those artists who walk the red carpet!
