  • Evolution of the hairdressing salons
  • The hairdressing market is the second sector of handicraft with its 65000 firms. But that profession is stagnating if we compare its turnover as a value and its turnover in terms of volume.
Regarding the structural plan, we can note an important difference between the franchised professionals and the individuals who suffer from an aging image. Focus hairdressing salon.

  • The success of the franchises remain on their capacity to anticipate and follow the evolution of the consumption patterns. The financial strength enables to modernize the salons, to offer trainings, so more services, to define specific zones regarding the care services and the well being : Massage, makeup, manicure…this evolution toward many services enables to increase the sale of services and products. A non-negligible potential when you know that, only 10% of the products are sold in salons against 75% in supermarkets !

To improve the evolution of the profession, the world leader in cosmetics has been seeking to help the independent hairdressers to modernize their business so that they can become relaxing areas…and so leading to consumption ! The strategy ? Offering different services in a modern and updated areas so the inner path of the consumer is reinvented, reenchanted…

This is the case since the 1st quarter 2015, l’Oréal Professionnel has been developing its concept Salon Emotion, a program aiming at supporting the evolution of the hairdressing field in France and in Europe. The objective is to transform about 6 000 salons in Europe by 2018. Some ambassadors of the brand took the step like Sophie Bauçais - La Rochelle - and the house Gérard Laurent - Forbach. The path will be long and difficult according to the journalist Stéphane Soumier on BFM Business faced to its guest Vincent Mercier Dg France l'Oréal Professionnel.
